Supervised professional training

Deep Emotional Work apprenticeship

Refine professional judgement. Advance toward mastery.

Express my interest

Why an apprenticeship

Mastery begins where method instruction ends.

Excellence in practice depends on more than knowing a technique. It requires the judgement to select, combine, sequence, pace, monitor, stop, and close emotional work responsibly for a particular person, context, and purpose.

Refine understanding

Connect principles and methods to the decisions required in professional practice.

Deepen practice

Strengthen application and judgement through feedback appropriate to your role and setting.

Advance with reflection

Examine selection, pacing, monitoring, stopping, closure, and professional boundaries.

The apprenticeship supports progressive refinement through structured learning, supervised practice, feedback, and reflection appropriate to each participant's role and setting. Admission, participation in training, assessment, certification, and authorization to use protected designations are separate decisions.

Who should register interest

For established professionals prepared for disciplined practice.

Relevant settings may include psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, counselling, coaching, social care, education, humanitarian mental health and psychosocial support, and adjacent professional fields. Registering interest does not establish eligibility.

A defined role

You already work in a professional role or supervised setting and can practise within your qualifications, local law, institutional responsibilities, and supervision arrangements.

A practical aim

You want to refine professional judgement through structured practice, feedback, reflection, and evidence of learning, rather than simply collect techniques.

How entry works

Begin with an expression of interest.

  1. Express your interest Tell DEWA about your professional role and the capability you want to develop.
  2. Join the unranked interest list Your registration remains active for up to 12 months. Earlier submission does not create priority.
  3. Receive an invitation to apply DEWA may invite you to apply if a suitable training place and supervision arrangement is available and relevant to the information you shared.
  4. Complete admission review Admission uses a separate application process with its own scope, terms, fees, and privacy information.

Registering interest does not reserve a seat, create an offer or commitment, or require payment. You can withdraw your interest at any time.

About DEW Apprentice status: Joining the interest list does not confer DEW Apprentice status, certification, or authorization for independent practice. These require separate formal decisions after admission.

Purpose, processing and your rights

Purpose and legal basis. DEWA uses the required details to maintain the unranked interest list, understand the professional context and capability you described, and decide whether to invite you to a separate application process when a suitable training place and supervision arrangement is available. This processing supports steps you request before a possible training agreement under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. DEWA uses a short-lived pseudonymous abuse-control identifier to protect the form and service under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on its legitimate interest in service security and misuse prevention.

Data categories and recipients. DEWA processes your name, email address, country, professional role, optional organisation, learning interest, acknowledgement record, generated reference and submission timestamps. Access is limited to authorized DEWA personnel who administer the interest list. Cloudflare processes the web request at interest.deepemotional.work and hosts the dedicated Worker and D1 database on DEWA's behalf.

Location and transfers. The D1 database is configured to run and store data within the European Union. Cloudflare's network may process requests internationally. Where processing involves a country without an adequacy decision, Cloudflare's contractual safeguards apply under its data processing addendum.

Retention and withdrawal. An active registration is kept for no more than 12 months. A verified withdrawal or expiry removes the active record and its personal data; only a non-identifying erasure receipt remains. The pseudonymous abuse-control identifier is kept for no more than 24 hours. Cloudflare D1 also maintains built-in recovery history for seven days. DEWA does not use that history to recover withdrawn or expired records. Before any necessary database restoration, DEWA exports the erasure receipts and reapplies them to the restored state.

Your choices and rights. You can withdraw your interest at any time by contacting contact@deepemotional.work and quoting your reference. You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information or the supervisory authority for your habitual residence. The general DEWA privacy policy provides further information.
